Floating Shelves

This is a classic. Floating shelves with no visible fixings. The picture here is in MDF but I have also done them in veneered oak and birch plywood. Due to the fixings of the shelves they have to be at least 50mm thick which creates a nice solid chunky looking shelf.

This is a section of wall panelling that opens up as a cupboard. All the doors are on Touch latches to allow no visible knobs or handles. The unit is constructed in timber and MDF fitted with panel mould.

Alcove Bookcase Unit

Flower Timber BlocksThis is another alcove bookcase unit with a cupboard at the bottom. This was one of two constructed in timber and MDF, the other unit had a T.V fitted above the cupboard. The client wanted decorative timber blocks on the corners of the upper bookcase unit so I had to hand carve so delicate flower style blocks. Unbelievably once I’d finished I still had ten fingers!

This was an MDF and timber constructed alcove shelving unit. The shelves are split to make the unit nice ans strong to take lots of books. It has Shaker style doors fitted with an ogee panel mould to match the period features of the property.

Dresser unit

Dresser unit

This is one of my favourite pieces of furniture I’ve constructed. It’s a dresser constructed in timber and MDF with ten opening doors and open shelving in the middle in a Shaker style. There’s a nice big chunky cornice at the top making it a real feature of the room. The customer had an uneven alcove to cover and lots of toys to store, so this was the solution.
